The Alkozirans

Several readers have asked what the Alkozirans look like (which none of the cool alien pictures below will tell you). A reasonable question, and the answer, in the words of the wise Spock, is fascinating. Also, mysterious.

Naw I never saw one that looked like this.
Naw, they don’t look like this. At least I never saw any. Why do science fiction creature creators always make that huge back of the head thing? Is it supposed to be extra brain space? And, whew, look at those ears! They can really hear well. Big eyes too. Except for the big green ogre thing below. Would that little skinny neck really hold up those big ears?

Everything about the Alkozirans is fascinating, and I will tell you what I know (which unfortunately, isn’t much), starting with, on this page, how they look. The first thing I have to tell you is, I don’t know what they really look like. At least, I don’t think I do.

I should explain by telling you a little about them. The Alkozirans have been very technically advanced for a long time, at least 26,000 years, I think. And before that, for several thousand more years, they were still much more advanced and civilized than us. But, hey, they have always been more advanced and civilized than us.

In their earlier days, they evolved much as we did, BUT from a peaceful species. They never fought. They never had wars. They never mistrusted one another. Ponder that for a while – no fighting, no mistrust, no wars. There were and are, discussions and disagreements, but no hatred or anger.

They know that as soon as you are sure, you are, almost always wrong. So they are never sure. I will repeat that. As soon as you are sure, you are wrong. They never said that to me, because it is instinctual to them and they understand, from birth, the foolishness of being sure. But it is one of the many important and wise things about them. The sooner you learn this, the wiser you will be, and perhaps the lonelier you will be. But you can get along fine. Earthlings don’t generally recognize wisdom, so for the most part nobody will know.

Nope, not like this either. There’s that long back head thing, pointed ears, and skinny neck again. I never saw any Alkozirans that looked anything like this. There were also no cross-eyed purplish-greenish catfish type creatures. Well, I didn’t see any.

As near as I can tell, all of them are creative and inventive, as only some of us are. As a result of this creativity and lack of war, their technology grew much much faster than ours. That, in short, is why their worlds can control worlds like ours. They got there, and here, first, and they are making sure we don’t get there. As I say elsewhere, and will say often, they are here to make sure we do not leave the solar system. Why in the world would they let a species like us, get out into space.

Okay, back to what the Alkozirans look like:

To me, they usually looked pretty much like humans. Two legs, two arms, a nose, a mouth, even male and female (with breasts), and even deep and high voices.

What a nice family, with glowing green galaxies in what looks like, sort of, an ear space. Probably some kind of sensor we don’t know about. But again, didn’t see anything like these fascinating beings. However, I’m pretty sure they could have looked like this if they’d wanted to.

However, there were many differences. Color for one. Many of them, well most that I saw, had thin smooth hair on their bodies, mostly brown or blond, like mammals on earth, but some had a kind of light red, or orange. It really made me want to pet them.

There was also some with light blue, green, even a few with purple hair. Those with skin like ours had a lot of different colors also, though most had a kind of smooth, almost glowing, light brown skin.

The hair by the way, was worn all kinds of ways. Some hair styles were fancy, but most were not, and usually not very long, shoulder length or less. Especially interesting to me, was that most of those with red hair wore it only an inch or two long.

It may seem strange to you, as it does to me now, but when I was there everything seemed normal and right, and I didn’t think to ask things like, “Why do those with red hair, wear it short?” I’ve got a long list of questions I wish I’d asked, but I think that were I to go back, I would not think to ask. Stuff like that doesn’t seem to matter when you are with them. Or maybe, in some way, I knew.

Once again, nope. They didn’t look like either of these friendly and happy looking green guys. I just wanted to put in the guy (I assume its a guy) with the back-of-head-extension and really big eyes. Maybe the head extension is some sort of “spermaceti” container for echolocation (you know, like sperm whales). The very large eyes would be good for night vision, of course. There would then have to be some kind of filter to tone down the light for day vision, but why not. I often think alien artists just don’t think enough about the physics and biology of their creations. The big green guy on the left, with cool tattoos and four toes, looks like he wants to eat the littler guy on the right.

They were all about the same height, 68 to 70 inches. It’s the right height for us, they said. All of them were attractive, but their appearances varied quite a bit, and it was easy to tell them apart. At least among the ones I knew. Most of them, as I’ve said, avoided me. But I did have some friends, and I had plenty of opportunities to see many others. Some of them still talk with me occasionally, which is exceptionally nice of them. It is a compliment too, because they really can not stand most of us.

But here’s the thing. I suspect they mostly looked the way they looked, just for me. I’m not even sure they can tell you a specific way they look, and while I’m sure they may sort of know what they originally looked like thousands of years ago, it doesn’t really matter to them anymore. They can, I believe, look anyway they want, or perhaps more accurately, anyway I wanted.
